Gems and Minerals
Ardimite
Description: This is a glossy, pale bronze mineral, which forms in rectangular shards amongst rock beds. It is quite light, but very durable, difficult to scratch or chip. It does not fair well against heavy bludgeoning, though, and with a harder metal is quite easy to carve into decorative shapes. Ardimite is quite smooth to the touch, and has a slightly reflective surface.
Habitat: Found mainly in colder mountain regions.
Rarity: Uncommon
Usages: Legally, can only be used for the purpose of coin production. Occasionally crafted into ornaments by the wealthy. Is sold in its raw form on the black market, for counterfeiting.
Chaumeld
Description: This beautiful stone is milky-white, with opalescent highlights all across its glassy surface. It is quite light, but also very strong. It is difficult to craft it into shapes, so while raw chaumeld is not rare, the durable and hardy objects made from it can be quite expensive.
Habitat: Chaumeld is found in mountainous rock beds throughout central Izarn.
Rarity: Uncommon
Usages: Mainly decoration, but some armors, weapons, and tools are crafted from it.
Orkalline
Description: A beautiful mineral, coming in shades of scarlet and orange, no one piece identical to another. Orkalline is perfectly transparent, with a smooth, glassy texture in its natural form. It is quite light, but strong and inflexible. It is conductive to heat and electricity.
Habitat: Orkalline is found on the western edges of the continent, near badlands and volcanoes.
Rarity: Rare
Usages: Decoration, a more expensive and durable substance for windows, also used for delicate pieces in tools and equipment that require heat and/or electricity.
