Division of Time

Izarn, being a moon, has much shorter days than Earth. It takes only 18 hours to complete a full spin. Fortunately, the murdon took this into account when they moved the LC to Izarn, and have thus put up a worldwide artificial lighting system, that expands the average day to 22 hours. Still shorter than Earth, but close enough to make it more comfortable for native residents.

It takes Izarn a total of 72 days to complete full rotation around the planet Zar.

One year (read: rotation around the sun) is equal to 20 years on Earth. The LC aging system is based on earth's years, though, and a individual will age itself according every 365 earth days (or 487 Izarn days). Because of this, seasons only change once every five or so earth years. That makes for an incredibly long winter in most parts!

Both the earth calendar and the Izarn calendar are used by the LC. Birthdays, anniversaries, and most festivals relating to a specific date are run according to the earth calendar, where-as seasonal celebrations are done so according to the Izarn.

Calendar Division

Solar Year = 9740 Izarn days / 7300 earth days (or about 20 earth years) Average Season = 2435 Izarn days / 1825 earth days (or about 5 years) Calendar Year = 487 Izarn days / 365 earth days

Each season is separated into 32 months, of 75 or so (Izarn) days each. Or 32 months of 57 earth days.

Each month is separated into weeks (on average 6 weeks to a month). Each week consists of 10 days.
